‘Love at first flight’ Virgin . Traktor
Gatwick airport in 1984 recreated in loving detail to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Virgin Atlantic’s inaugural flight. Researched in depth from historical archive with the correct concourse seating with the exact upholstery, to the Our Price record store recreated with the original graphics and vinyl records, and the Wimpy restaturant resurrected. A full Concourse recreation with ticket desks, phone booths and a full working replica of the destination board that announced that first flight. Graphic design including Airline Identities such as ‘Bored Lengthways’ - a rueful dig at BA, tickets, boarding passes and Luggage tags for the colourful 1980’s luggage.
